Invoices for two countries

How Wundaly drafts quotes and invoices with the legal lines for Germany and the Netherlands, which VAT rates the catalogue knows, and why you check the first ones.

If you work for clients on both sides of the border, you know the small dance: one customer in Utrecht, another in Stuttgart, two sets of rules, and one evening that was supposed to be for something else. Wundaly cannot do your tax for you, but it can draft the paperwork so you start from a tidy page.

What it drafts#

A quote becomes an invoice as a PDF with the legal lines for Germany and the Netherlands. Other countries are not covered. An accepted quote becomes an invoice without retyping, billable hours become invoice lines, and a monthly timesheet is available as a PDF. E-invoices and payment reminders are available too. The email that carries an invoice waits in approvals until you say yes.

You can read the details in invoices and quotes and the overview in invoices and money.

The VAT rates it knows#

The catalogue lists VAT rates per tax class: 21, 9 and 0 per cent for the Netherlands, and 19, 7 and 0 per cent for Germany. When a product or a line is added to an invoice, it carries its net price and its rate. Which class a service belongs to, whether a reverse charge applies, and whether you charge VAT at all depends on you and your clients. That is for you or your adviser to decide.

Check the first invoices#

This is the one piece of advice we would underline. Make your first few invoices with a helper, then put each beside one of your own, and compare line by line: the numbering, the VAT, the wording, the payment terms. If they match, you have learned how your helper writes. If they do not, tell it what to change, and ask it to note the decision in the workspace so every future invoice follows it. See what Wunda keeps.

Your rates, your rules#

Wundaly does not apply professional fee schedules or price lists on your behalf. You enter your own rates and lines. Your helper can read them back to you, and a note in the hoard such as "day rate is 480 euro excluding VAT" keeps every future draft consistent.

From hours to lines#

If you bill by the hour, start and stop a timer on a project, or add a finished entry. Unbilled billable time can become invoice lines, and entries can be marked as invoiced so nothing is billed twice. Then you read the timesheet PDF before you send anything. Spending is a separate corner: expenses and budgets.

What it will not do#

It will not send the invoice on its own. It will not tell you what to charge. It will not know what you agreed on the phone unless you tell it, and it will remember it afterwards if you do.

When you want to try it, ask for a place. If you are a freelancer, a day for a translator shows the loop in a made-up week.
